Certified organic and biodynamic vineyards. This is a cool wine; a super-spicy nose, peppered with salted pear, smoked almonds, green apple skins, white currants and loads of cumin and roasted macadamias. The palate is saline, long and concentrated, hanging around long after the last sip. Citrus blossom, preserved limes and fine, chalky phenolics. Way more to think about here than the usual fiano.

A stellar release of Fiano from Grosset, this Apiana shows complex and quite rich. A textural feast and yet minerality and savouriness play strong parts. Sweet citrus, honeysuckle and lemon myrtle floral and leafy characters for seasoning. Great harmony in all the elements here and succulence with each sip. A benchmark Australian Fiano in 2021.
